Two and a Half Men is a show about a person, Charlie, that is very rich and it comes off like he does nothing and gets everything. Charlie let his brother Alan and his nephew Jake live with him and he shows his bitterness about it every day. The two brothers fight a lot, mainly because of money issues. Alan works hard every day and still can't afford to move out of the house, while Charlie is at home most of the day and lives an extravagant lifestyle.
The show makes it look like people that live where he does, or have his profession do nothing all day for a lot of money. Just because he has a lot of money doesn't mean he didn't work for it. It makes it seem like all rich people are just lazy and do nothing while the money just keeps piling up. There are people like that in the world, but I'm sure that there are tons of people who worked hard their whole lives to get where they are now and have the luxury of living that lifestyle.
The characters of the show all have their own stereotypes portrayed. Of course the main character, Charlie, is seen as a rich person who does nothing but gamble and hook up with women. The housekeeper mentions multiple times that she lives a life full of less amenities and she's bitter about it, when in fact there are people who are satisfied with just getting by and don't have to be mad all the time. The brother Alan is a working class citizen and he is shown as almost worthless in the show. All of these stereotypes do no good for the community, however funny they are, and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Nick stated that in Two and a Half Men stereotypes are given with in the family. Charlie is the main character who is rich by luck, gambles all the time and hooks up with women. His brother Alan works hard at what he does and doesn't get anything in return. This show makes the rich man seem cool and collected while Alan seems awkward and a bit of a loser. This says stereotype of social class makes every rich person seem "cool." Just because he has money. This is a social problem because if everyone, poor, and middle class want's to fullfil the "cool rich" stereotype. Which in America is almost impossible to reach without cheating the system or working extremely hard to get there.
